The City of Chesapeake recently held the 9th Annual Mayor's Breakfast to Honor Veterans at the Chesapeake Conference Center. This year's keynote speaker was John Harvey, ADM (ret), USN, Secretary of Veterans and Defense Affairs. The breakfast is organized by the Mayor's Commission on Veterans Affairs, which serves in an advisory capacity to the mayor concerning laws and city policies that affect veterans. The Commission's goal is to publicly honor all who actively serve or have served our nation.
